Our take

Who this one is for

The Koko Boost puts two boosts under one footswitch: a clean, transparent boost on the green side and a midrange boost on the red side. This is the current, smaller version of the pedal, and Suhr states the circuit and tone are identical to the original Koko.

The clean side runs from unity gain to +20dB, enough to push a tube amp's front end into its own overdrive. On the red side, a three-way Freq switch decides where the mid lift lands: Mids for a full, smooth push, High Mids to cut through a mix for solos, or Low Mids to thicken rhythm and lead parts. Holding the footswitch flips between the two sides mid-song through Suhr's mf(x) switching, and the FX Link jack hands that switching to a loop switcher or controller.

For two clean boosts with their own Hi-Cut controls and no mid voicing, compare the Dual Boost Black Edition. For a booster aimed at the upper mids and treble, the Brighton Treble Booster.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
