Who this one is for

The Pete Thorn Signature Series Standard is a two-humbucker Suhr Standard with a mahogany body under a plain maple top, scraped binding, a mahogany neck on an Indian rosewood board, and jumbo stainless frets on a 10" to 14" radius. Suhr developed it from a custom-spec Standard for NAMM 2017 and mounted the Thornbuckers in rings, a first for Suhr.

Two builds are on our list, and the bridge tells them apart. The Wilkinson Locking Tremolo guitars (Black, Gold, Ocean Turquoise Metallic, Garnet Red) are the original spec: chambered mahogany, an Even C Slim neck at .800" to .880" on a 1.650" nut, raw nickel Thornbuckers, a Wilkinson WVS130 and a Travel Pro softshell case. The Suhr 2-Post guitars (Black, Cactus Green Metallic) are the current version, with a Fijian mahogany body, a fuller Pete Thorn 60's Soft V neck at .830" to .910" on a 1.687" nut, solid saddles, a push/pull pot that puts the bridge pickup in parallel, and a black hardshell case.

Slim-neck players should start with a Wilkinson guitar; the 2-Post suits a fuller grip and adds the parallel bridge sound. The Pete Thorn Standard HSS carries the signature onto alder with single coils.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
