The Next Generation 514ce is the Grand Auditorium with a Western Red cedar top over mahogany back and sides. Taylor describes a focused midrange with a warm, rounded character and a top that answers a light touch, which suits a wide range of playing styles. Scalloped V-Class bracing adds volume, sustain and open-string ring.
The long-tenon Action Control Neck adds a little low-end presence and makes string height a quick adjustment, and the Claria Acoustic Pickup System handles the plugged-in side.
For the same woods on the compact Grand Concert body and a 24-7/8" scale, see the Next Generation 512ce. For cedar over Indian rosewood on this body, the Next Generation 714ce. Natural gloss throughout, with a green abalone rosette, faux pearl Meridian inlays, white binding and a faux tortoise pickguard.
