The 814ce-N is a nylon-string Grand Auditorium with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a Sitka spruce top and a Venetian cutaway. Taylor pairs rosewood's low end and bright treble with a top that adds projection and definition, so fingerstyle parts stay articulate.
The fretboard sits on a 20" radius with a 1-7/8" nut, which gives the picking hand room between the strings without asking more of the fretting hand. Maple binding, Element inlays and a gloss finish carry the look, with an ES-N pickup built in. For the same woods on the compact Grand Concert body with a soft cutaway, look at the 812ce-N. For solid sapele back and sides, the 314ce-N.
