Provenance

Why this one made the wall

Serial:  03-11-25A

Anderson Guitarworks was born out of Tom’s garage, 40 years ago in 1984, as a pickup and guitar parts (necks and bodies) business. After making pickups, guitar bodies, and necks for other builders, we started building complete guitars and moved into a small shop in 1985.

Before the introduction of the magnificent Drop Top in 1990, the number of "S" style guitars that had a maple top that was "dropped" to create a comfortable forearm contour were exactly zero. As a result of this design, we've chosen a body top thickness of 3/16 of an inch, which actually enhances and enrichens the sonic character of the instrument. The result is a guitar that not only plays effortlessly, is extremely comfortable, and sounds amazing but is so darn good looking that if you don't dress well it just may update you.

Frequently asked

Questions we get

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

What does the free setup cover?

Every instrument crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, and on an online order that setup is free.

What it covers depends on what the guitar needs. Frets, fretboard, hardware, fresh strings, truss rod, action, nut slots, intonation, pickup height and electronics are all part of it, and none of it is an upcharge. The menu above shows the choices you get to make.

Ian's work is described on Repairs and tuning.

What if it is not right when it arrives?

You have 48 hours from the moment it arrives to decide. Email shop@lauzonmusic.com inside that window and we will authorize the return. Nothing comes back unauthorized.

Exchange it for something else and there is no restocking fee, though you cover the shipping on the instrument going back. On a straight refund it is 10% plus the actual shipping both ways.

The full terms are on Shipping and returns.

Can I pay for it over time?

Canadian buyers can pay over time with PayPlan by RBC, chosen as the payment method at checkout. The exact terms come from RBC and are shown to you before you agree to anything.

Financing never changes the price of the guitar. More on Financing.
