The Hotshot Telecaster is new to the American Professional series: a Tele with a V-Mod III Stratocaster single-coil between its two V-Mod III Tele pickups, on a five-way switch. That puts Tele bridge bite, a Strat-style middle and the in-between sounds on either side of it in one guitar.
A push-push tone control adds the neck pickup, so the classic Tele neck-and-bridge setting is still there. It uses the Telecaster's new top-load/string-through bridge with compensated brass bullet saddles, and the same Deep "C" neck with rolled edges, 9.5" radius and reshaped heel.
Five finishes. 3-Color Sunburst, Dark Night and Oxblood are alder with rosewood boards; Aged Cherry Burst and Butterscotch Blonde are ash with maple.
It's for the Tele player who keeps borrowing a Strat for one song.
