Our take

Who this one is for

Tom Morello has played the "Arm The Homeless" guitar for more than 35 years, from the first Rage Against the Machine records on. This version follows his heavily modified original: Blue Ice Metallic over alder with no pickguard, the slogan and his hand-drawn hippopotamus artwork, black hardware and a painted maple neck with a "Hockey Stick" headstock.

The electronics are active, with an EMG 85 at the bridge and an EMG H in the neck, each with its own volume, a master tone and a three-way toggle. A recessed Gotoh double-locking tremolo with a locking nut keeps tuning steady. The custom flat "C" neck has a 15" rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, very flat, which suits low action and wide bends.

For his Audioslave guitar with a Floyd Rose, Hot Rails and Noiseless single-coils, look at the Tom Morello Stratocaster. This one comes in a deluxe black hardshell case.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
