Who this one is for

Yngwie Malmsteen has played a Stratocaster through his whole career, and his signature model follows his favourite, built in the USA. The hallmark is the scalloped fingerboard: the wood between the frets is carved away, so your fingertip touches only the string. Bends and vibrato come easily, though a heavy grip will pull notes sharp.

Three Seymour Duncan YJM Fury pickups run on a three-way blade, so you get each pickup on its own rather than the in-between positions. A no-load tone control for the middle and bridge pickups sits out of the circuit at full, and the neck pickup has its own tone. A brass nut, 21 super jumbo frets, a modern "C" neck with a 9.5" radius and a bullet truss rod round it out, with "F" stamped tuners and a tweed case.

It comes in Vintage White with a scalloped maple or scalloped rosewood fingerboard. For a vintage-radius take on the scalloped board, look at the Ritchie Blackmore Stratocaster.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
