The Tom DeLonge Stratocaster is about as stripped down as a Strat gets: one Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker at the bridge, one volume knob and no switch. The Invader is a high-output pickup, and a treble bleed on the volume keeps the highs present as you turn down.
A hardtail bridge with block saddles and string-through-body loading replaces the tremolo, which keeps tuning steady through heavy strumming. The maple neck has a modern "C" carve, a 9.5" slab rosewood fingerboard and 21 medium jumbo frets, and the neck plate carries his own artwork. A four-ply white pearloid pickguard and white pickup cover finish it off.
For the same single-humbucker idea in a semi-hollow, look at the Tom DeLonge Starcaster. The Stratocaster comes in Black, Surf Green, Daphne Blue or Graffiti Yellow, with a deluxe gig bag.
