Who this one is for

The 1965 Stratocaster is a transition-year guitar, built just as the original design began to change, and this one keeps those details: the larger transition logo, a round-laminated rosewood board with bigger pearloid dots, and an 11-hole 3-ply eggshell pickguard. Alder body under gloss nitrocellulose lacquer.

The pickups are Pure Vintage '65 Gray-Bottom single-coils, named for the grey fibre bottoms used that year. The 1965 "C" neck has a 7.25" radius and vintage tall frets, round under the hand for chords, with the usual note that big bends high up like slightly higher action. The vintage synchronized tremolo has bent steel saddles.

The 1961 Stratocaster is the earlier slab-board version with clay dots, and the 1973 Stratocaster shows where the design ended up in the next decade. Offered in Sonic Blue, Candy Apple Red and Shoreline Gold.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
