Our take

Who this one is for

The Telecaster Deluxe arrived in 1972 as the first solid Tele with two humbuckers, and this one recreates the 1975 version. A large Stratocaster-style headstock, a belly contour, and two Authentic CuNiFe Wide-Range Humbucking pickups on an elongated 3-ply black/white/black pickguard with a volume and tone for each and a 3-way toggle on the upper bout.

The CuNiFe magnets use the same copper, nickel and iron alloy as the original pickups. The one-piece maple 1975 "C" neck is flatter than most in this series, with a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets, so bends feel easier and lower action is easier to reach. A three-bolt plate with Micro-Tilt, a bullet truss rod nut and a 6-saddle string-through hardtail with stainless steel block saddles complete it, with an alder body in gloss polyurethane.

The 1977 Telecaster Custom keeps one Wide-Range at the neck with a single-coil at the bridge. The 1972 Telecaster Thinline puts a pair of the same pickups in a semi-hollow ash body. Offered in 3-Color Sunburst, Black and Vintage Blonde.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
