Our take

Who this one is for

The '70s Telecaster Custom pairs a humbucker at the neck with a Tele single-coil at the bridge, and this one follows the 1977 version. An Authentic CuNiFe Wide-Range Humbucking pickup at the neck, a Pure Vintage '77 Single-Coil Tele at the bridge, and a volume and tone for each on an elongated 3-ply black/white/black pickguard, with the 3-way toggle on the upper bout.

So the bridge position is a standard Tele single-coil, and the neck position is a humbucker. Alder body in gloss polyurethane, a 1977 "C" neck with a 7.25" radius and vintage tall frets, a 6-saddle bridge with slotted steel barrel saddles, "F" stamped tuners, a bullet truss rod nut and a three-bolt plate with Micro-Tilt.

For two Wide-Range humbuckers, see the 1975 Telecaster Deluxe or the semi-hollow 1972 Telecaster Thinline. Offered in Black and Wine with a maple board, or 3-Color Sunburst and Olympic White with round-laminated rosewood.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
