Cory Wong made his name on funk rhythm guitar with Vulfpeck and on his own records, and his Stratocaster is a modified version of his favourite Strat. The alder body is slightly smaller than a standard Strat, with sculpted contours, finished in Sapphire Blue Transparent satin lacquer, and the headstock shape is subtly changed too.
The neck has a Modern "D" profile and a 10" to 14" compound radius rosewood board with rolled edges and 22 medium jumbo frets. The radius is rounder near the nut for chords and flatter up high for bends. Three Seymour Duncan Cory Wong Clean Machine pickups run through a 5-position blade, and a push/push switch on the second tone knob bypasses the blade and sends you straight to position 4, the middle and neck pair, in one press. The master volume has a treble-bleed so the top end stays when you roll it back.
The vintage-style synchronized tremolo comes with a Cory Wong hair tie for muting the springs to get his rhythm sound, and deluxe locking tuners keep it stable.
