Who this one is for

The Postmodern line pairs vintage looks with modern playability, and this Precision Bass adds a Jazz Bass pickup to the mix. A Custom Shop Hand-Wound '57 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup sits in the usual P spot, with a Custom Shop Hand-Wound '75 Single-Coil Jazz Bass at the bridge, so the round P sound has a Jazz Bass voice alongside it.

The body is two-piece select ash with an offset seam under a DLX Closet Classic nitro finish, the light aging of a bass that spent most of its life in the case. The one-piece quartersawn maple neck has a 1960 P Bass Oval "C" carve and a 9.5" to 12" compound radius, rounder near the nut and flatter higher up. Jescar Vintage frets, a bone nut and an RSD Designed HiMass bridge round it out.

It comes in Aged Blue Ice Metallic with a quartersawn maple board or Ebony Transparent with flat-laminated rosewood. For a straight vintage P, look at the 1955 Precision Bass DLX Closet Classic or the 1960 Precision Bass DLX Closet Classic.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
