The Jim Root Jazzmaster keeps the offset body and drops almost everything else. No rhythm circuit, no tone controls, no floating vibrato and no position markers: a single volume, a three-way blade, an EMG 60 at the neck, an EMG 81 at the bridge and a string-through hardtail.
The body is mahogany with a contoured neck heel. The modern "C" maple neck carries an ebony board with a 12" to 16" compound radius, rounder near the nut for chords and flatter up high for low action and clean bends, with 22 jumbo frets and side dots only. Locking staggered tuners and the fixed bridge keep it stable in dropped tunings, and the hardware is black throughout.
This is the USA-built version in Flat Black. The Jim Root Jazzmaster V4 is the Mexico-built alternative with Daemonum pickups and block inlays, and the Jim Root Stratocaster gives the same electronics and compound board in a Strat body.
