Jimmie Vaughan's Tex-Mex Strat is a simple, vintage-style Strat set up the way he likes it. The alder body carries a single-ply white pickguard, and the tinted maple neck has a soft "V" carve on a 9.5" radius maple board with medium jumbo frets.
The pickups are Tex-Mex single-coils, with an extra-hot one at the bridge for more output and bite. The tone controls are wired to the neck and bridge pickups, so the bridge isn't left without one, while the middle has no tone control. The vibrato is a six-saddle American Vintage synchronized unit, and it comes strung with .009s.
It comes in Olympic White and is made in Mexico. For his younger brother's take on the Strat, look at the Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster.
