Our take

Who this one is for

Christone "Kingfish" Ingram is the face of a new generation of blues players, and his Telecaster Deluxe is built for that kind of playing. Two custom Kingfish humbuckers, each with its own volume and tone, sit in an alder body finished in Daphne Blue with a parchment pickguard.

The neck is roasted maple with a V carve and a slab rosewood fingerboard on a 12" radius with 21 medium jumbo frets. The flatter radius lets you bend further before notes choke out. An Adjusto-Matic bridge with an anchored tailpiece gives each string its own intonation adjustment, and the neckplate carries a custom Kingfish engraving. The nut is bone at 1.685" wide.

Made in the USA, right-handed, with a deluxe moulded case. For the 70s original that this layout grew from, look at the American Vintage II 1975 Telecaster Deluxe. The Chris Shiflett Telecaster Deluxe is another player's take on the same twin-humbucker Tele.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
