Our take

Who this one is for

Lincoln Brewster's Stratocaster pairs a vintage look with a lot of control. The ash body wears Olympic Pearl lacquer with a 1-ply eggshell pickguard and aged white knobs, and the 1-piece maple neck has a soft V carve in nitrocellulose lacquer.

The electronics carry it. A DiMarzio Area 61 at the bridge and two DiMarzio Area 58s at middle and neck are hum-cancelling single-coils. An onboard active preamp adds a fixed boost on a push/pull volume, and the first tone knob sets the level of the mid boost. The second tone covers the bridge pickup, and a treble bleed keeps the top end as you roll the volume down. The fingerboard runs a 9.5" to 14" compound radius with 22 medium jumbo frets, rounder near the nut for chords and flatter higher up for bends. A 2-point tremolo with bent steel saddles and a pop-in arm, plus vintage-style locking tuners, round it out.

Made in the USA, Olympic Pearl with a maple board, right-handed, with a black hardshell case. The Eric Clapton Stratocaster is another Strat with an active mid boost, on a different neck and pickup set.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Want an estimate for this model before you order? Ask us in the chat.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
