Who this one is for

Robert Cray plays a hardtail, and his Stratocaster is built the same way: a string-through-body bridge with no tremolo, which keeps tuning steady and gives the strings a firm anchor. An alder body, a mint green three-ply pickguard and three vintage-style single-coils on five-way switching.

The neck is an early '60s "C" with a 9.5" rosewood board and 21 medium jumbo frets, a flatter radius than vintage and comfortable for bending. The truss rod adjusts at the heel in the vintage manner. The two tone controls run the neck and middle pickups, which leaves the bridge pickup at full brightness.

For a tremolo Stratocaster with a vintage spirit, the Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster or the American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster are the closer alternatives. The Robert Cray comes in Inca Silver or 3-Color Sunburst, both with a rosewood fingerboard and a deluxe gig bag.

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. After you order, we check with the supplier and email you an ETA. If it changes, we let you know, and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses Ian Vance's bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
