Steve Harris has stayed with the Precision Bass through his whole career with Iron Maiden, and his signature model is dressed the way his own bass looks: Olympic White with maroon, blue and maroon pinstriping, a mirrored chrome pickguard and the West Ham United F.C. crest. The body is two-piece maple rather than the usual alder or ash.
Under the hood it is simple. One Seymour Duncan Steve Harris SPB-4 split-coil pickup, master volume and master tone, and a HiMass bridge. The "U" shape neck is a substantial handful, with a 7.25" maple fingerboard and 20 jumbo frets. It comes with roundwounds fitted and a set of Rotosound Steve Harris Signature flatwounds in the gig bag, so you can try both.
For a satin black take on the same idea with a Split P pickup and threaded vintage saddles, look at the Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Steve Harris Precision Bass. Bandmate Dave Murray's Stratocaster is on the list as well.
