The Little Sister is the 20-watt version of Friedman's 40-watt Twin Sister: a single-channel, cathode biased head with two EL84s and three 12AX7s. Friedman aimed it at the classic rock sound of British tube amps from the 60s and 70s, and the one channel runs from sparkling cleans to vintage crunch. Gain and master set the level of drive, and it covers blues, rock and country from there.
Two switches shape it. The S-Switch changes the gain structure and the B-Switch toggles between Bright and Tight. The ultra-transparent series effects loop takes time-based pedals and rack units, and the front end is built to take boosts, overdrives, phasers, flangers, tremolos and wahs. Transformers and capacitors are custom made, the cabinet is tongue and groove Baltic Birch, and it is assembled in Los Angeles with a limited lifetime warranty. At 18 inches wide and 22 lbs it is an easy carry.
The Twin Sister is the bigger choice if you want two channels and 40 watts. The Pink Taco V2 head is the same size and tube set voiced for BE-style gain, and the Runt-20 adds a clean channel and an XLR output with an internal load. The Little Sister Combo is this amp over a 12" Celestion G12M-65 Creamback.
