Gibson Custom's 1959 ES-345 Reissue in Ebony with a factory Bigsby, from the Limited Edition Collection. Ebony with a Bigsby was one of the rarest combinations Gibson shipped in 1959. The Murphy Lab's Heavy Aged finish gives this one the lacquer checking and play wear of an original that has spent decades in use.
The mahogany neck is carved to the Authentic 1959 profile and set with a long neck tenon. It carries a rosewood board with split-parallelogram inlays and 22 reissue medium jumbo frets on a 24.75" scale. The body is the classic maple/poplar/maple laminate around a solid maple centerblock, so it stays composed at volume.
Two Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups run through two volumes, two tones and the mono Varitone, the circuit that sets a 345 apart from a 335. Gold hardware and black plastics sit against the Ebony, with an ABR-1 bridge and Kluson Deluxe tuners. It weighs 8 lb 8 oz.
