The G6128T-53 goes back to the first year of the Duo Jet, 1953, when Gretsch introduced it as its flagship solid body. Under the black finish the body is chambered mahogany, with the Gretsch script logo on the headstock, aged pearloid block inlays, aged white binding and a single-ply vintage white pickguard.
Two TV Jones T-Armond pickups, built to recall the original Dynasonic, run through a volume for each pickup plus master volume and master tone. An aluminum compensated bridge sits ahead of the Bigsby. The mahogany neck is a standard "U" with a 12" radius rosewood board, medium jumbo frets and a bone nut, on a 24.6" scale that keeps the reach short.
The Duo Jet runs through this catalogue in several years: compare the '57, '59 and '89 Vintage Select models, or the G6128T-GH George Harrison Signature Duo Jet.
