Our take

Who this one is for

The 00L-16E is a sloped-shoulder 00 14-fret with a spruce top over mahogany back and sides, scalloped X-bracing, and a Modified Low Oval neck with the High-Performance Taper on a 24.9" scale. It's built in Nazareth with an ebony board carrying 1955 Style 18 inlays in mother of pearl, and L.R. Baggs Element electronics.

The top is gloss in three colours, with satin on the back, sides and neck. The 1935 Burst comes with a faux tortoise guard, while Black Smoke and Blue Denim take a grained ivoroid guard against the antique white binding. We'd start with the 1935 Burst, which suits the Style 18 inlays. Black Smoke and Blue Denim are there for a player who wants colour on a Nazareth-built 00.

For the same sloped-shoulder body without electronics, in FSC®-certified sapele and Sitka spruce, look at the 00L Biosphere IV. The GPC-16E takes the 16 Series to a Grand Performance cutaway in East Indian rosewood.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
