The OM-28 Modern Deluxe takes the rosewood OM, a 000 body on the 25.4" scale, and builds it with Martin's newer parts. The European red spruce top and the Adirondack spruce braces are both VTS, the bridgeplate is carbon fibre, and the neck is the asymmetrical Vintage Deluxe in select mahogany with a Standard Taper. That taper leaves 2 1/4" at the 12th fret, and the bridge spacing is 2 1/4" as well, against 2 1/8" and 2 5/32" on the OM-28, so the picking hand gets a little more room.
European flamed maple binds the body and forms the endpiece and heelcap, a 1933 CFM script logo is inlaid in the East Indian rosewood headplate, the bridge pins are Liquidmetal with red dots, and the tuners are Waverly gold open gear. Bold herringbone and the Style 28 rosette stay, with abalone diamonds and squares and abalone side dots on the ebony board.
