The 114ce is the 100 Series Grand Auditorium, with a torrefied spruce top, C-Class bracing, a Venetian cutaway and a full 25-1/2" scale. Taylor roasts the top to bring some of the warmth of an older guitar to a new one, and tunes the bracing for more volume, sustain and low end. It comes out clear and balanced with a strong midrange, and it works for strumming, flatpicking and playing with other people, with Expression System 2 for plugging in.
For the same shape in the 200 Series, with layered walnut back and sides, an ebony board and white binding, look at the 214ce. The 14ce and 24ce are Academy Grand Auditoriums with Fishman Presys VT electronics, the 24ce with a solid mahogany top.
