Who this one is for

The Next Generation 312ce is Taylor's compact Grand Concert in solid Sitka spruce over solid sapele, built with the three Next Generation updates: scalloped V-Class bracing, the long-tenon Action Control Neck and the Claria Acoustic Pickup System. Taylor voices it clear and quick to respond, with more volume, sustain and bass than the small body would suggest.

The 24-7/8" scale lowers string tension a little and shortens the reach between frets, so it suits fingerstyle players and anyone who wants an easier time on the neck. String height can be adjusted on the Action Control Neck without slackening or removing the strings, and the Claria controls sit at the soundhole.

For the same woods on the larger Grand Auditorium body and a 25-1/2" scale, look at the Next Generation 314ce. The Next Generation 322ce keeps this body with a mahogany top, and the Next Generation 412ce moves to Indian rosewood back and sides. This one is dressed in black binding, faux pearl Weathervane inlays and a firestripe pickguard under a full gloss Natural finish.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
