Who this one is for

The Next Generation 412ce brings Indian rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce top to Taylor's compact Grand Concert body. Taylor lightens its scalloped V-Class bracing in chosen spots for more volume, sustain, low-end warmth and pitch accuracy, and describes a rich, balanced voice with plenty of harmonic detail, clean trebles and a steady bass.

The smaller body and 24-7/8" scale sit close to the player and make for an easy reach up the neck. The Action Control Neck lets you set the action exactly where you like it, and the Claria Acoustic Pickup System puts its controls at the soundhole.

For the same woods on the Grand Auditorium body, look at the Next Generation 414ce. The Next Generation 812ce is this body and pairing with a rosewood armrest and 800 Series appointments, and the Next Generation 312ce is the sapele version. Black binding, a white single-ring rosette, faux pearl Weathervane inlays and a firestripe pickguard, all in gloss.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
