The Next Generation 614ce is a Grand Auditorium with figured Big Leaf maple back and sides and a torrefied Sitka spruce top, finished in gloss Antique Blonde. Taylor describes maple here as a wood that follows each player's touch closely, with the roasted spruce adding projection, clarity and some warmth. Scalloped V-Class bracing builds volume, sustain and open-string richness.
The Action Control Neck allows fine adjustment of string height, and the Claria Acoustic Pickup System puts its controls at the soundhole. Green abalone Wings inlays run up the fretboard and peghead, with faux tortoise binding, a tortoise pickguard and ebony bridge pins dotted in green abalone.
For the same body in Indian rosewood, look at the Next Generation 414ce or Next Generation 814ce. For cedar over rosewood, the Next Generation 714ce.
