The Academy 12e is a non-cutaway Grand Concert with an armrest carved into the lower bout and a 24-7/8" scale, both there to make it easier on a new player's arms and hands. The torrefied spruce top sits over layered walnut back and sides on X bracing, with a tortoise pickguard, a slim neck and ES-B electronics for plugging in.
For a solid walnut top on the same body, look at the Academy 22e. The Academy 10e is the Dreadnought, and the Academy 12e-N has nylon strings.
