Who this one is for

The Gold Label 717e is a Grand Pacific, Taylor's round-shoulder dreadnought, built deeper than the standard version of the shape, with Indian rosewood back and sides, a torrefied Sitka spruce top and fanned V-Class bracing. Taylor says the extra depth brings more low end and projection, and describes a warm, round sound with rosewood's overtones on top.

The long-tenon Action Control Neck couples neck and body more closely for low-end warmth, and you set string height by turning the neck bolt inside the soundhole. A Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge, cream binding with a matching single-ring rosette, Crest inlays, the modified Gold Label headstock and a full gloss finish make up the trim. Electronics are an LR Baggs Element VTC.

It comes in Natural, Sunburst with a firestripe or a cream pickguard, and Blacktop with cream. For this body in mahogany, look at the Gold Label 517e. The 817e is the same shape in Honduran rosewood, and the 917e puts a torrefied Adirondack top over Honduran rosewood.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
