Who this one is for

The Gold Label 914e pairs Honduran rosewood back and sides with a torrefied Adirondack spruce top in the Super Auditorium body, and Taylor places it at the top of the Gold Label Collection for woods and appointments. Taylor describes a deep, warm voice with blooming overtones, and says the Adirondack top gives a heavy strummer more headroom to dig in.

Fanned V-Class bracing adds low-end resonance, midrange, volume and sustain, and keeps pitch accurate up the neck. The long-tenon Action Control Neck has a slender profile, and string height can be reset in minutes without taking off the neck or the strings.

The trim looks back to much older guitars, with grained ivoroid binding, a modified headstock with a script mother-of-pearl logo, an engraved pickguard, a single-ring rosette in paua and Honduran rosewood, and paua purfling along the fretboard and peghead that ends in a flourish at the crown. The bridge is a Honduran rosewood Curve Wing, and the electronics are an LR Baggs Element VTC.

Natural and Sunburst are offered. If you strum hard, this is the one to choose over the Gold Label 814e, which uses the same back and sides under torrefied Sitka. The Gold Label 917e takes the same woods into its deeper Grand Pacific body.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
