Who this one is for

The Gold Label K14e is Andy Powers' design in Hawaiian koa: koa back and sides with a torrefied Sitka spruce top in the Super Auditorium, which follows the Grand Auditorium with slightly wider contours for more volume and low end. Taylor describes strong, rich mids with the warmth and depth more often heard in older, played-in guitars.

Fanned V-Class bracing adds volume and sustain and keeps the sound focused when the guitar is played loud. The long-tenon neck joint improves transfer between neck and body and keeps string height easy to adjust.

The appointments follow the Gold Label 814e: mother-of-pearl Continental inlays, an engraved ivoroid and tortoise pickguard, a Honduran rosewood bridge, grained ivoroid trim and Gotoh 510 antique chrome tuners with ebony buttons. A full gloss finish brings out the koa's figure and colour variation. Electronics are an LR Baggs Element VTC.

It comes in Natural or Sunburst. The Natural leaves the roasted top in its own colour, and the Sunburst shades it. For the same body and trim in Honduran rosewood, look at the Gold Label 814e.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
