The Royalist MKIII is the British amp in the line: 40 watts from two EL34s, a 5AR4 rectifier for sag, and a single 12. Each of its two channels has a three-way voicing switch that changes the preamp, tone stack and negative feedback. 1964 is the lower-gain JTM45 and Bluesbreaker sound, 1967 is the brighter, more aggressive Plexi, and 1970 is the highest-gain Super Lead.
It's a non-master-volume amp, so the power section does a lot of the work. An Iron Man II attenuator on each channel lets you run it hard at a usable level, with an HF switch that eases the top end. Each channel's Volume pulls out for FAT, which adds low end at the first gain stage. A line out with its own level control goes to a recording interface or a desk.
Set one channel to 1964 for edge-of-breakup and the other to 1970 for leads, and the single-button footswitch gives you both. If you'd rather run separates, the Royalist MKIII Head pairs with the Royalist 1x12 or 2x12 cabinet.
