The SG12-23-BE is Boucher's S-Jumbo strung with twelve, built in Berthier-sur-Mer with African Bubinga back and sides under an AAAA Adirondack red spruce top finished in a burst. That spruce grows in the region around the shop. The bubinga's figure varies from one guitar to the next, so the one in the photo is a single example.
Boucher fits its 12-strings with a low-profile neck and a 1.875" nut, which gives the doubled courses room to sit cleanly under the fingers. Boucher points out that the extra six strings are lighter gauge and every chord shape stays where you already know it. A Fishman Matrix Infinity is installed, ready for the stage.
For the same S-Jumbo in Canadian Curly Maple, look at the SG12-63, and for six strings on this body and wood, the Studio Goose SG-23. Like every Boucher, it can be built left-handed.
