The SG12-52-E is a twelve-string dreadnought from Boucher in Berthier-sur-Mer, Quebec, with East Indian Rosewood back and sides and an AAAA Adirondack red spruce top. That spruce grows in the region around the shop, and Boucher has worked with it since founding the shop in 2005.
A 12-string doubles every course, and Boucher builds this one for it: a low-profile neck, a 1.875" nut that leaves the paired strings room to fret cleanly, and a Fishman Matrix Infinity installed for the stage. Boucher adds that the extra six strings are lighter gauge, and every chord shape stays where it was.
This is the only dreadnought in the 12-string range. The SG12-41 is the 12-string OM Hybrid in Brazilian Mahogany, and the Studio Goose SG-52 is this same body and wood with six strings. Every Boucher can be built left-handed, this one included.
