The SG12-63-E pairs Boucher's S-Jumbo body with Canadian Curly Maple back and sides and an AAAA Adirondack red spruce top, strung with twelve. Both woods are Canadian, and the guitar is built in Berthier-sur-Mer, Quebec, in the region where that spruce grows. The figure in the maple varies guitar to guitar, so the photo shows one example.
The neck is a low-profile carve with a 1.875" nut, giving the doubled courses room to sit cleanly under the fingers. Boucher notes that the extra six strings are lighter gauge, and every chord shape stays the same. A Fishman Matrix Infinity is installed.
For the same body in African Bubinga with a burst top, look at the SG12-23. As a six-string, this body and wood is the Studio Goose SG-63, and the Grande Reserve GR-SG-63T and GR-SG-163T put the S-Jumbo in torrefied flamed maple. It can be built left-handed, like every Boucher.
