Who this one is for

The GR-HG-166T puts 5A torrefied flamed maple on Boucher's 000 body, 12 frets to the body, under a Gold Touch top of torrefied AAAA Adirondack red spruce. Boucher began offering roasted Adirondack tops in 2010, aged through a process developed with Université Laval, and in the Grande Reserve series the maple back and sides are torrefied as well. The slotted headstock carries gold Gotoh open gear tuners. The figure in flamed maple varies from guitar to guitar, so yours will differ from the one in the photos.

With the neck joining at the 12th fret, the bridge sits nearer the centre of the lower bout. For the 12-fret Parlor in the same 5A maple, look at the GR-HG-164T, and for this 000 in 3A maple, the GR-HG-66T. The Heritage Goose HG-66 is a 000 in Canadian Curly Maple.

It can be built up from here with Boucher's option packs for finish, pickups, top grade and trim, listed below.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
