The SM-PN-72 is a dreadnought with American cherry back and sides under an AAAA Adirondack red spruce top, built in Berthier-sur-Mer, Quebec. The cherry goes back to the start of the shop. Boucher tells it this way: Patrick Norman was the first artist to visit the workshop and buy a Boucher, in 2005, and it was a cherry dreadnought. His signature model followed in 2016.
The neck is a V shape with a 1.6875" nut, narrower than the 1.875" nut on Boucher's 12-strings, and string spacing at the bridge is 2.1875". Boucher lists an Element VTC pickup for this model.
It is the only American cherry guitar in this Boucher catalogue, so it is the dreadnought for a player after that wood. For the same shape in other woods, look at the Studio Goose SG-42 in Brazilian Mahogany or the SG-52 in East Indian Rosewood. It can be built left-handed, as every Boucher can.
Options for this model include:
- Left-handed build
