The 001 T is Collings' 12-fret 00 in the Traditional Series, with mahogany back and sides under Sitka spruce. Collings builds its T guitars for a strong fundamental and an open feel, with rounder highs and less overtone complexity than its regular voicing. Here that comes from the open slotted peghead, the pyramid bridge, a custom scalloped X-brace with an abbreviated tongue-brace graft, an ultra-thin nitro finish and Collings' redesigned neck support.
The 24 7/8" scale lowers string tension, the 1 3/4" bone nut sits on a Traditional profile neck, and the 12-fret joint puts the bridge nearer the centre of the lower bout. Collings suggests it for fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters. Custom wood purflings, a wood rosette and gold pearl short dots make up the trim.
