The 002H 14-Fret puts East Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce on Collings' 14-fret 00, 14 1/2" wide and 4" deep. Collings sets this size between its small and mid-sized guitars and describes a midrange resonance, a dry and articulate attack and more low-end definition than you would expect from the body.
Herringbone purfling inside ivoroid binding, a zipper backstrip, an ivoroid and tortoise rosette, and abalone short diamonds and squares make up the 2H trim. The square peghead has a volute and a stained exotic ebony veneer. The 24 7/8" scale lowers string tension, and the modified V neck has a 1 11/16" bone nut, with the belly bridge at 2 3/16" spacing. Collings rates it for fingerstyle and strumming alike.
