The 01 T is Collings' 14-fret 0 in its Traditional Series build: a Sitka spruce top over Honduran mahogany back and sides, on a body 13 7/16" across the lower bout. The Traditional Series reworks the bracing and wood thicknesses with weight in mind, and Collings describes the result as warm, rounded highs over a present low midrange, with a quick attack and strong projection. Under the top is their pre-war scalloped X-brace with a shortened tongue brace, finished in an ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer.
The neck is a Traditional profile with a 1 3/4" bone nut, and the strings spread to 2 5/16" at the ebony belly bridge, which gives a fingerpicking hand room to work. Tortoise binding with wood purflings, a wood rosette and gold mother-of-pearl dots on ebony make up the trim.
