The 03 is the 14-fret 0 in Collings' 3-style trim: East Indian rosewood back and sides, a Sitka spruce top, and the most dressed of the standard 0 builds. Ivoroid binds the body with b/w/b/w/b purfling, and it carries on around the ebony fingerboard and the peghead. The rosette is abalone, the board is left clean with no inlay, the bridge pins carry abalone dots, and gold Waverly tuners and a chevron backstrip complete it.
The body is 13 7/16" wide and 4" deep, and Collings says the 14-fret 0 trades some of the larger models' bass for a round, punchy voice with volume and headroom. The modified V neck has a 1 11/16" bone nut and a 24 7/8" scale.
