The CJ Mh is Collings' slope-shouldered jumbo in Honduran mahogany, with a Sitka spruce top, a belly-style ebony bridge and the CJ's 16" by 4 7/8" body. Collings positions the CJ near its dreadnought in size with a distinctly different voice, and offers a shorter scale that it says firms up the bass into something more percussive, a fit for acoustic blues.
The mahogany version is trimmed in tortoise: tortoise body binding with black and white top purfling, and tortoise binding on the ebony fingerboard and the Haircut peghead. The C-shape neck has a 1 11/16" bone nut, a 25 1/2" scale and a 14" to 26" compound radius, with mother-of-pearl long dots and a walnut backstrip.
For the same body in East Indian rosewood, look at the CJ, and for the Traditional Series mahogany build with a shorter scale and wider nut, the CJ-45 T. Collings' options for tops, finishes, scales and trim are listed below.
