The D2H T is the Traditional Series version of Collings' rosewood dreadnought, East Indian rosewood under a Sitka spruce top, built around Collings' read of the pre-war guitars players chase. Bracing and tonewoods are adjusted for weight and thickness, and Collings describes the result as warm, rounded highs over a present low midrange, with a quick attack and strong projection.
The herringbone here is a small brown purfling inside ivoroid binding, paired with a custom wood rosette, gold mother-of-pearl long diamond and square inlays and a gold mother-of-pearl logo on a stained exotic ebony peghead. Bridge pins are ivoroid with a black dot. The Traditional neck profile sits on a 1 3/4" bone nut with 2 5/16" spacing at the bridge, which gives the picking hand more room, and the body is finished in ultra-thin nitrocellulose.
