Who this one is for

The Ladybird is a fully hollow electric with body, top and neck all in poplar, on a 24 1/8" scale, the shortest in Collings' electric line. Collings puts its character close to 1960s single-cut guitars. Righteous Sound voiced its Cathedral and Bishop pickups for this model, and you choose one. It comes in Antiqued Jet Black or Satin Teal, with leopard tortoise binding, a rosewood bridge, a Collings trapeze tailpiece, Davies Radio knobs and Kluson tuners.

The short scale lowers string tension, and Collings strings it with D'Addario flatwound Chromes in 11s with a wound G, the same warmer string choice it makes on its archtops. Collings says the pickups hold note clarity across a wide dynamic range. The peghead takes the flipped haircut outline, and the neck has a 1 11/16" nut.

For another fully hollow Collings, the I-30 LC pairs a double cutaway with Lollar P90s on a longer scale. The Ladybird can be built with Collings' options for finishes, trim, hardware and more, listed below.

Questions we get

How much do I pay today?

Your choice: the full price, or a 25% deposit. On a deposit, the balance is due when the guitar reaches the shop, before it ships to you. A deposit is paid by card or PayPal. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay can't take one.

When will it arrive?

It varies by product, anywhere from two weeks up to several months. If you'd like a date for this model first, ask us in the chat and we'll check with the supplier before you order. If you're ready now, go ahead: we confirm the ETA by email once your order is in, and if it changes, we let you know and you can cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time before the supplier invoices it and ships it to us. We refund what you paid less 3% to cover the card processing fee.

Once it has shipped to us it is a special order and final sale. If it arrives with something wrong, we put that right.

What if the price goes up before it arrives?

You pay the price you ordered at. Once your order is placed we hold that price, even if the supplier raises it before the guitar arrives.

Is the free setup included?

Yes. A pre-order is an online order, so it gets the same free setup: it crosses our bench before it ships, set up the way you choose. The setup menu above shows what that covers.

Do I pay duty or brokerage on a US order?

No. Duty, taxes, brokerage and customs on a US order are handled at our end before the instrument leaves Ottawa. It arrives at your door with nothing to pay.

Orders going anywhere outside Canada and the United States work differently. The shipping and returns policy sets out which is which.

Can I finance it?

Yes, if you are in Canada and paying in full. Pick PayPlan by RBC or Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at checkout. The plan, the rate and the approval sit with the provider, and you see the terms before you agree to anything. You pay a deposit by card or PayPal.
