The SoCo 16 LC is the larger SoCo: a single-cutaway semi-hollow with a 16" lower bout, an inch wider than the SoCo LC, which Collings gives it for more low end. The top, back and sides are maple laminates Collings makes in its Austin shop, built around a solid maple centre block that helps the guitar resist feedback at volume.
The electronics are a pair of Lollar Low Wind Imperial humbuckers with CTS pots, Jupiter Vintage Yellow caps and 50s-style wiring, over a Kluson ABR-1 bridge and stop tailpiece. The mahogany neck joins on an extra-long mortise and tenon, with a 24 7/8" scale, a 1 11/16" nut and a 12" radius on rosewood with long mother-of-pearl dots. Collings has it covering warm jazz through to bright, open leads.
For the 15" body with the same electronics, look at the SoCo LC, and the SoCo Deluxe is the carved solid-wood version. It can be built up with Collings' options for finishes, trim, inlays and more, listed below.
