The OM1 A HC is the mahogany Orchestra Model from Collings' Hill Country Series, with an Adirondack spruce top over Honduran mahogany back and sides. The Hill Country build brings scalloped X-bracing with an abbreviated tongue brace, ultra-thin high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer on body and neck, and a hand-poured tortoise pickguard with a matching rosette ring. The ebony peghead veneer is plain on the front, with the Collings logo stamped on the back.
Collings describes the Hill Country sound as dry and warm, with a strong fundamental and a full low end. The 1 3/4" aged bone nut and 2 5/16" string spacing at the bridge give fingerpicking hands more room, and the Hill Country neck comes in a large or small option. For the same build in East Indian rosewood with ivoroid binding, look at the OM2 A HC. The OM1 T is the Traditional Series take on the mahogany OM.
