The OM1 T is the mahogany Orchestra Model from Collings' Traditional Series, which Collings designed around the traits of sought-after pre-war guitars. A Sitka spruce top sits over Honduran mahogany back and sides, braced with a custom pre-war scalloped X pattern and an abbreviated tongue brace, under ultra-thin high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Collings tunes the bracing and woods for weight and thickness, aiming for rounder highs and more low midrange while keeping a quick attack and strong projection.
The neck is a Traditional profile with a 1 3/4" bone nut, and the bridge spaces the strings at 2 5/16" for a little more fingerpicking room. Tortoise binding with custom wood purflings, a custom wood rosette and gold mother-of-pearl dots and logo set the trim. For the standard Collings voicing on this body, look at the OM1, and for East Indian rosewood in the Traditional Series, the OM2H T.
