The OM2H T is Collings' Orchestra Model in East Indian rosewood with a Sitka spruce top, built in Austin to the Traditional Series spec: a custom pre-war scalloped X-brace with an abbreviated tongue brace, a cut-through bone saddle, an ultra-thin nitro finish on the body and Collings' Traditional neck profile over a 1 3/4" nut. On its T guitars Collings works the bracing and wood thickness for weight, aiming at warm, rounded highs and a strong low midrange while keeping a quick attack.
The trim is the 2H look: ivoroid binding with small brown herringbone purfling, a zipper backstrip, a wood rosette and gold mother-of-pearl diamonds and squares in the ebony board. The OM body is 15" wide and about 4" deep. The wider nut gives the picking hand more room.
The standard build is the OM2H, the mahogany Traditional Series OM is the OM1 T, and the OM2 A HC puts an Adirondack top on rosewood. It can be built up with Collings' options for tops, finishes, trim and inlays, listed below.
